Since 2010, Student Volunteer Army continues to play an important role within the community providing assistance to those in need, supporting community groups and projects, and giving students volunteering opportunities.

Our Mission

Making service part of the student lifestyle by inspiring and activating students to be the change in their community.

F.a.c.e. Values

Student Volunteer Army believes that in order to be fully successful as an organization, members, from the executive to all the volunteers, must possess and show such values either before, during, or after volunteering.

  • Fulfillment
  • Ambition
  • Collaboration
  • Empathy

The Student Volunteer Army showed the world the very best of University of Canterbury students after the Canterbury earthquakes and it has endured, establishing an ethos of community services that has become part of UC’s graduate profile.
— Rod Carr, UC Vice Chancellor
