SVA Camp 2: Kaikoura

Get away with SVA! This term we’re heading up to Kaikoura to work with DoC on the picturesque Kaikoura Peninsula walkway. We’re lucky enough to be hosted at Takahanga Marae in Kaikoura, and will be spending the night in their whare. This time round we’ve squeezed the epic SVA camp experience into just two days and one night, and brought the price down to less than a dozen box. So take a break from the fourth term stress and come have a great time and do some good with SVA!

Saturday: After meeting at the Foundry at 8:30am, we’ll jump in the wagons and cruise our way north. After being welcomed onto the marae with a traditional powhiri and a bite to eat for lunch, we’ll head out to the peninsula track for an afternoon’s worth of volunteering. The evening will be spent socialising with fellow volunteers over a fish and chip dinner on the beach.

Sunday: Our time at the marae will conclude with a poroporoaki, after which you’ll be free to explore the town, and make your way back to Christchurch.

All meals and accommodation are included in the ticket price.

Note: Volunteer transport is by carpooling. If purchasing a driver’s ticket, you must have your full licence, be willing to take minimum 4 other volunteers in your car and able to meet at the Foundry by 8:20am on the Saturday.
