Rebuilding
lives

The most powerful thing anyone can do in the face of crisis or need is to respond.

Without
hesitation

Student Volunteer Army gives volunteers the means and the structure to help others and use their skills for good.

Enabling them to come together and help to put things right for communities in ways that people acting on their own could never achieve.

What we do

Together

We show up ready
when needed in
numbers that defy the most daunting situations

“I love helping with the SVA it has taught me to think of others and to use my time in a positive way.”

Our purpose

Change the world in front of you, together

Every situation we commit to is an opportunity to put something right in the world.

It may not change the whole planet, but it can change the here and now for those who are directly affected...

For us, its the greatest gift we can give.

Our partnership with Idea Services supports volunteers with intellectual disabilities to use their skills to volunteer with us.

Our vision

Creating the next generation of community

We operate the national framework for volunteer service recognition — the SVA Service Award that operates in nearly 50% of New Zealand secondary schools.

We coach student volunteer clubs on 6 University campuses across New Zealand.

We come together as a force for good, and use these networks to rush fearlessly to the assistance of others in times of need - large or small.
