Nelson Tasman Floods Response

Update – Wednesday 6 August - 2PM
Student Volunteer Army – Flood Clean-Up

50 students from the SVA Club at University of Canterbury will be back this weekend to continue supporting the post-flood clean-up. If you would like to join their efforts on Saturday 9 August, please email pip@sva.org.nz

The Student Volunteer Army is also reaching out to community groups and organisations, youth groups, schools, businesses, churches and sports teams to ask for further volunteer support by joining our volunteer efforts.

Thanks to government support, we are now able to offer a koha per van load to any youth or school group who volunteers with us over the coming month.

🤝How can you help?

⭐ Pull together a team and register through our volunteer sign up form or email crisis@sva.org.nz

⭐ Encourage other groups to get involved!

💬 Need Help?

If you're a resident needing assistance, please fill in our updated Request for Help form. It now includes questions on insurance and Enhanced Task Force Green eligibility.

We prioritise support for households and small landholders who may not qualify for Rural Support or Task Force Green assistance.

If you're unable to use the form, just drop into the Community Hub (next to the Rec Centre) and someone will help get you on the list.

SVA is focused on helping in areas where other support may not reach—especially where young people can make a real impact.
